Grease Is The Word

Guess what: I went to see "Grease" live in the theatre downtown! It was oodles of fun! (Yes, i just said oodles.) It was amazing to see the performed version, the characters were vivid and bold. Plus it was just fun to have a "Girl's Night" with the madre  :)

Beforehand, we went to this fancy resturaunt called "The Row" and OH MY GOSH! was it good! My tastebuds died and went to heaven! I know this is probably kindof mean, but i mean it when i saw that this meal was, in my opinion, almost BETTER than the show! lol  I had a filet with lump crab topping, which was pink and tender it was like mush in the middle, but REEEEALLY good mush! haha  On the side i had asparagus and green beans, which may sound "ew-ish" but they were purrrrrfect, i swear. They had such a wonderful seasoning with butter, black pepper, salt, and such that it was just to die for. If they had brought me a second plate of those veggies and said "Sorry, ma'am, we seem to have run out of beef, but we hope you'll accept these instead.", my reply would have been something to the effect of "Hell Yeah!".... Except with a lady-like tone, because, after all, it is a 5 star resturaunt and i was all dressed up and everything. lol
Next the mashed potatoes, which were so thick and creamy i just wanted to put them in my glass and drink it with my meal. And the shrimp? Oh sweet baby Jesus... (Notice how this meal has already caused me to make like 10 divinity references; It was THAT good!) It was hands-down the best shrimp i have eaten in my entire life, and ive been to Europe! I dont know WHICH brand of crack that chef slipped in there, but if i find out, im gonna bust out my wallet and buy a kilo on da spot, dawg! lmao  But in all seriousness, something in it made it taste so sweet at first, and then after a few seconds it turns into a slightly-spicy tingly taste. I almost want to say something like syrup or cinnamon (just a hint) with some paprika, maybe? I actually ASKED them what it was and they wouldnt tell me. No fair! lol  I finished with a 5 layer chocolate cake that i theorize was crafted by Zeus himself, and maybe with some help from Apollo and Athena, perhaps sprinkled with essence of love by Venus? lol  ...Did i really just make greek mythology jokes?  :P

Either way, i just wrote a frickin PAGE about this resturaunt, so you KNOW its good. If you ever have like $30 layin around and you're in the downtown area, i highly reccomend it, and i encourage you to take me with you! haha  You know what else is funny? This is titled "Grease is the Word", but i barely talked about the play and more about the buttery grease at the resturaunt! That makes me feel kinda bad, actually, so ill mention the actor's again for a while:  they were, of course very talented. The choreography was inventive, the music was well-harmonized, and, in an unrelated note, even the theatre staff was friendly. The gentleman who led us to our seats let us actually upgrade to better seats like 20 rows up! And when i asked someone who the actress was who played "Glinda" in "Wicked" (Kristen Chenoweth; i had forgotten and it was killing me!), they actually scouted the backrooms for an old Wicked Playbill so they could tell me! Can you believe that? SO nice  :)

Points of interest:
-Taylor Hicks played "Teen Angel", the guy who sings "Beauty School Drop-Out"
-My favorite actor was tied between the guy who played "Vince Fontaine", the Radio DJ, and the girl who played "Marty", one of the Pink Ladies
-My favorite song was one they didn't have in the movie, "Freddy, My Love", which is about Marty's engagement to a marine

That's about all for now, folks. Until next time..

Stay Nifty!  ;)
