What to Do On a Rainy Day

Games, games, and more games. That's what you do, anyone would agree. With my extra day off from school, thats basically all i did. First, there was Quelf, the best board game you will ever play in your entire life. It's basically a random mixture of different cards that you have to obey to get to the end. I've mentioned this incredible game on several different blogs. Either way, this time I played with Mikey and His friend, Will, who kept insisting that he was "too cool for this game" when he lost. One of my favorite cards was the one that procliamed "Every time a phone or doorbell goes off, everyone must stand up and say 'Pizza Party!' The last player to do so must pay the penalty". I also enjoyed Will and Mikey's Pantomimed Airplane Safety Demonstration. It was pretty hilarious, to say the least.

The next game id like to talk about is "Just Dance" for the Nintendo Wii. It's an odd game, i will admit, because it looks a heck of a lot easier than it actually is. The goal is to score as high as you can by selecting a song and imitating whatever dance move the character on the screen is doing, all while holding your remote so the sensors can detect it. The key is to really suck at dancing. Seriously! lol  My mom would barely move at all, she was off-beat, and she randomly spazzed out when the dance got a little faster, and yet she scored off the charts, often in the 500-600 range. Meanwhile, Dad and I would hit every step perfect, in perfect rythm, and we could barely scrape by with a measely 100-200 score! It's a workout, though, and by the time youve finished a few songs you're sweating, exhausted, and hungry. lol

Spyro 2 for the Playstation 1 was my final game, though i definitely spent the most time on it. I perfected every level in Summer Forest and all but 2 of the levels in Autumn Plains, all in one day. I havent played the game in years, so everything was still new to me. I think some of the hardest quests ive done today were completing "Ocean Speedway", keeping the semi-suicidal baby turtles from jumping into the strange bird's soup in "Sunny Beach", the trolley quest in "Breeze Harbour", and pretty much everything in "Magma Cone". Im really getting into the game, though, and so far i've rediscovered how easy it is to fall in love with a trustworthy Playstation 1. Sometimes it's the simple things in life, like board games and older gaming systems, that are the must entertaining.

Stay Fun! ;)

Silly Americans

Memorial Day: An American holiday that commemorates soldiers who died while in military service
Celebration Choice: Pool-side BBQ's

While I fail to see the connection, i DONT fail to have a good time! WHOO!! lol  Today i went to a pool party with my family at a friend's house to commemorate dead people! (haha) There was a grande feast of corn, ribs, beans and macaroni, and it was the perfect weather for hours of aquatic fun. Hooray for war! (haha x2)

Speaking of silly americans, however, i'd like to point out a few ridiculous things that happened at this particular gathering of native U.S. residents:
It's silly to...
-Swim right after eating. Therefore, you shouldnt serve food RIGHT by the pool!
-Slide down a rickety, plastic, 10 foot, very thin slide while its dry. May cause scabbing of the hip.
-Wear a loose-fitting bikini
-Wear a tight-fitting bikini
-Bring crossword puzzles to a party based around water
-Pet a hairy dog with a wet hand
-Assume that "dessert" always includes chocolate

Behold: The Male Menstraul Cycle

Chelsea's boyfriend, James, is currently out of state visiting family until Monday. This is the main reason (besides my unmatched beauty and charm, of course! lol) why Chels came over this weekend. She wanted to try and get her mind off him and have fun with her bestie. Too bad James's vacation just-so-happened to fall on his "time of the month", because his erratic behavior and violent mood swings were too crazy for us to even comprehend. I wonder if they make diapers in his size. (Snap!)

Ok, ok, there are too many spiteful blows and not enough information to back it up. Allow me to elaborate: Chelsea and i were having a blast today making videos with my mom's webcam. I helped her accomplish all 25 online Quelf Webcam Challenges (which were HILARIOUS!) and then we settled down and just made random videos on Facebook. Nothing wrong with that, right? Apparently, wrong. We told James to check out the vids and when he did he was outraged. "What was he so mad about?" You may wonder. "You must've done something very bad to upset him!" Nope. He was upset because we called up our guy friend because we were bored and wanted to film us talking to someone. That's it. We even called him, too, and said "James is funner anyway", but that wasnt good enough.

What WAS good enough was 8 hours of James's yelling at Chelsea over the trivial affair. How mature. He threatened to break up with her even when he knew about their baby; HIS baby. He said he was gonna call up some chick he knows that lives near where he's staying, just so he could spite her. When questioned about why he wouldnt just let it go (after like 4 hours or so of Chelsea crying and apologizing), all he would say was "You know if CHELSEA got mad like this, she would do the same thing!" I beg to differ; just because she's HAVING a child doesnt MAKE her a child. Furthermore, even if she were to show such adolescent behavior, why would you choose to imitate the dumb behavior over all of the responsable things she does? In other words, you're the idiot.

This whole mess truly infuriates me. Chelsea and i were having SUCH a great day before Little Miss Cranky decided to call us up and whine. We were trying on clothes in Bealle's, goofing off in the dressing rooms. I was helping her occupy her time while he weasn't around; she deserved at least ONE stress-free day to herself, without freaking out over the baby or her failing relationship or her mom or school, but he couldnt even give her that. She was laughing about a skanky Little Bo Peep dress i was modeling just moments before he called. Moments after, she couldnt even eat lunch. He doesnt even realize what kind of hurt he caused, what kind of day of happiness he made her miss out on.

It took me hours before i could even get her to smile again, you worthless piece of crap. Either get your act together and turn back into the man we all know and love; the man that makes us all smile; the man that couldnt wait to be a father... or choose to remain the complete douche-bag of a boy that you're being right now and get the hell away from her, or so help me, I will personally see that you obtain the most cruel, ungodly torture that anyone could ever give - The Princess Bride Punishment:

"The first thing you lose will be your feet, below the ankles, then your hands at the wrists. Next, your nose. Then your left eye, followed by your right. You will keep only your ears, so that every shriek of every child at seeing your hideousness will be yours to cherish; Every woman who cries out, 'Dear God, what is that thing?' will echo in your perfect ears. I leave you in anguish, wallowing in freakish misery forever."

16 and Pregnant

No, im not talking about that lame MTV show, either. (You heard me: lame!) I'm talking about my best friend Chelsea. I know, right? Its crazy. She's had so many scares in the past 8 months her and James have dated, but even after all those false alarms they still managed to sucessfully get pregnant. (Apparently, his seed was pretty determined! lol) Im pretty sure this time its serious because she's almost 3 weeks late and she's had a lot of morning sickness and loss of appetite. She wants to keep it.

Where do i begin? At first, i was REALLY worried about the whole thing because when she told me she didnt seem to care; It was almost like all those false alarms made her impervious to shock, and that was a BAD sign. Having a baby is no small thing, so if youre pregnant you BETTER be alarmed! But aftre talking to her for a while, she was sure to express her worry, which made me glad that she was finally realizing the gravity of the situation. Chelsea loves kids, and i know she'll be a great mother, but things obviously would have been better if she had waited. Still, her courage, dedication and responsability are some of the many reasons why i love her, and its easy to respect  her choice.

My main questions though are about her housing. She told her mom yesterday, and she supports her ("emotionally, but not financially", which is understandable), but Chelsea doesnt want to live in such a crowded house, especially with her mother's drinking, the animals inside, and all the creepy neighbors right down the street. But what then? She could move in with her boyfriend, but his dad smokes like a chimney. But what other options are there? Neither one has enough money for a house of their own, not to mention one with enough space and safety to support a child. Their last chance would be to move in with a close friend or relative, but again there are problems with smoking, room, money, and safety.

I may be the only shot theyve got. My mom has said in the past that Chelsea always has a home with us while she's in college, and this would only be an extra year (technically). The only problem would be making room. Our house is fairly big, but we have a current residence of 7: Mom, Dad, Mikey, Me, Grandma, Grandpa, and our close family friend, Rick. You see, our modest family of four increased when Grandma's house was so run-down it had to be foreclosed. We fixed it up, sold it for near nothing, and let them live with us. And during Rick's tough divorce, Mom and Dad had the hospitality to clear out the entire craft room and turn it into a spare bedroom until he could find a place of his own. So you can see how we kind of have our hands full enough already. Still, there may be hope if we could somehow fit Chelsea and her baby into my room. I guess timing is everything, and all we can do is hope.

On the bright side, without discussing the obvious financial and emotional troubles this child is going to create, just imagine the baby shower possibilities! haha  Chelsea's staying the night, and we were thinking we could most likely do it at my house, because the church would probably not allow it and the Oakleaf Ballroom is cool but kindof expensive, and would there really be THAT many people? That place is huge! lol  Seriously, though, i am SO in charge of planning it, whether she knows it or not  :)  haha  We're gonna play games, eat a lot of really good food, and then play more games! lol  The presents will be amazing, i know, because Chelsea has a lot of very generous friends and family, because she's simply the best there is and everyone will want to help. That part, at least, im looking forward to  :)

Stay Hopeful! ;)

Leaving The Nest

Now that it's officially the end of the school year, ive come to find out (too late, i might add) that ALL of my best friends are seniors. I never actually realized how many of my friends were seniors until today, when i walked into almost every class to discover a menagerie of empty seats where all my favorite classmates once sat. In the infamous words of one of my favorite teachers, Mr. Markum, Theyve all been Nsync'ed: They're "Gooone!" lol

Im going to miss them all sooooooo much, and these last few days of school are going to seem nearly empty and meaningless without all these magnificent people. Unluckily for me, that new high school is opening up just down the street from me, which means even a lot of my classmates that ARENT seniors are leaving me, too! So allow me to take this moment to reflect on all my friends who are, unfortunately, leaving me behind:

-Scott
-Paige
-Drew
-Tiffany
-Rebbekah
-Kyle
-DJ
-Brittany
-Cedric
-Christina S
-Loretta
-TJ
-Janina
-Amanda
-Bianca
-LyQuyen

Among these people are not only my friends, but truly beneficiaries to our School Community. Scott was salutitorian (2nd highest grades for entire graduating class!) and Drama Club Pointskeeper. Drew was named "Best Artist" of  the entire graduating class, got into the Senior Hall of Fame, and was president of the Drama Club, Schools 4 Schools, and was extremely active in band and colorguard. Rebbekah was FCCLA president, Drama club Costumes Coordinator, and got into the Senior Hall of Fame. Paige was President of Eco Force and Drama Club Historian. Tiffany was Chorus President (and All Star), winner of Mr Markum's heralded "Bloody Shirt" award in APUSH, and Senior Hall of Famer. Not only does this prove that I, personally, have impeccable taste in friends, but it also just goes to show what a sensational mass of talent my school will be missing out on next year. These friends of mine have not only left behind a big peice of themselves in my heart, they have left behind a legacy that cannot easily be replaced in this or any lifetime. For all you wonderful seniors, I wish you only the best of luck in college and in life, and thank you for giving me high standards to live towards  :)

Since im now in "reflection mode", i might as well confess that i feel like my entire high school career is hitting me especially hard all at once. Next year i'll be a senior. How scary is that? Next week im taking my SAT, soon i'll be posing for my senior portraits, then i'll be getting a summer job, and getting a car and actually DRIVING, then ill have to buy my cap and gown, my yearbook, my tickets for homecoming and prom, dresses and limo's and haircuts and makeup; its all too much to bear! Summer days will just blur together and suddenly i'll be meeting all my new teachers and before i can even blink it'll all be over!! It scares me to death, i tell ya. Every day im getting closer and closer to filling out forms for college acceptance and scholarships, closer and closer to getting my diploma, closer and closer to going to college, closer and closer to moving out, closer and closer to actually having to CHOOSE a career, closer and closer to a home and a husband and children, its all enough to sicken me to my stomach.

I know this is all paranoid ramble, but there are just SO mnay things that i wish i could do over. When i finally get to the point of graduation, im going to stop and wonder: Could my grades have been better? Could i have been more outgoing and friendly? Could i have done more extra-curiculars? Could i have taken different classes? Could i have taken time to appreciate the little things? Could i have stopped to think about what i want to do with my life? Could i have saved more for college, house payments, and career training?

Stressing myself out? Yeah, i think i am. But if i didnt stop to wonder, it'd all pass me by, one day after another until Boom: I'M the one leaving the nest.

(PS: I think ive finally figured out what my shout-outs are gonna be! Instead of simply "stay nifty", every day will be a different word, mainly based on whatever the blog was about for that day. Not only is it a catchy and unique sign-off, it signifies the advice that i can make for myself and my audience. Today will be the first)

Now You're a MAAAAN!

Today was such a crazy day i dont even know where to begin. My best male friend, Scott, turned 18 today, thereby magically transforming him into a man. This unleashes a world of possibilities, such as the right to vote, buy cigarrettes and porn, see an R-rated movie, et cetera. So to celebrate Scott's glorious day of birth, The Terrible Trio (Scott, Paige, and I) set out on a day of adventure!!

After school, we all piled into Scott's car and thought of places to go. So for a few minutes we browsed around in Dollar Tree and didnt really buy anything. Scott looked at books, Paige looked at a present for her bf (Matt), Paige and I pondered the idea of buying greasy little gummy rats for our APUSH teacher (Markum), I seriously adored this giant icecream holder thing (i love icecream), i nearly peed my pants when i saw this funny movie title (Incident on a Dark Street), all of us marveled at the $1 3oz steaks, and we continued our quest.

Paige wanted to show me the ins and outs of thirft store shopping, and so we rushed to the nearby Goodwill to look around. Scott wasnt as enthused as we were by all the adorable, cheap dresses, but this was all part of his manliness training, of course! lol  Paige and i took a few cute pics of us strutting our stuff in a myriad of stylish dresses, some crazier than others. We tried on and vogued a lot, but my personal favorite was the rainbow sequin dress: Formal wear for all my circus needs! haha ;D  Eventually, though, we decided to leave and continue with our search for fun.

We journeyed far and wide till we reached Target, where we splurged on Starbuck's while i publicly dictated Scott on the ways of becoming a man...

Barista: How may i help you?
Scott: Id like a frappuccino, please
Barista: Ok, what flavor?
Scott: Uhmmmm.....
Me: Just order what you want, already! Real men dont waste time!
Scott: Ok, ill take coffee flavor (mocha?)
Barista: What size, sir?
Scott: I think i want a small....
Me: NO! Small is for boys, get a venti! Real men get the largest drinks!
Scott: Fine, venti please
Me: NO! A real man would just smack me around and tell me to shut up and let him make his own decisions!!

Haha :) On the way out of Target we modeled a few hats for our bff photo shoot; You know i cant resist. Next we went to the gas station so Scott could get his first lottery ticket, and thats where all the dirty jokes began to pour out. Without thinking, i started saying these badly-worded inuendos in front of the cashier guy, who just couldnt stop laughing the entire time. It all started when we walked in and said "Birthday boy, comin through!". He asked how old Scott was turning and we said 18. The first words out of my mouth were "Yup, we're gonna make him a man tonight!" "Woah!" bellowed the cashier, and we all immediately started cracking up. Shortly after, we were deciding which doughnuts we wanted when i said something like "Dont worry, Scott, we're giving you a special gift!" Again, the cashier made a comment and we all laughed. My favorite joke, though, was when Scott was paying for his lottery ticket and i said "Someone's gettin lucky tonight!!" We laughed so hard our eyes were watering, and as we walked out the cashier looked at Scott and said "I hope your birthday goes as well as shes saying it will!" XD

Finally, we made our way to my house, where we chilled out and played Quelf for a little while. In case you didnt know, Quelf is the most fun, most random, most creative, most simple board game ever created, and until you play it your life is not complete. If you dont believe me, check it out for yourself on Wikipedia or their personal website, here. I was Queen Spatula, Scott was The Platypus, and Paige was Super Ninja Spider Monkey. To play the game, all you have to is do what the cards tell you to and be the first person to the finish line. For example, my cards told me to stick a peice of paper to my head using peanut butter and try to beat box a song about animals. Paige's cards told her to make a funny noise every time she moved her character and challenge Scott to a finger duel in slow motion. Scott's cards told him to put on lipstick and act like a confused mime trapped in an invisible box with 4 rabbid ferrets. Later on my brother joined in on the fun, and he had to bark ferociously at anything that came within 15 feet of the game board, which just so happened to be my grandma. I told you this game was crazy  ;) haha

Once all this craziness was over my parents invited Scott and Paige to a birthday dinner at Osaka, a nearby japanese steakhouse. They cook your meals right in front of you on the hot hibachi grill, so its like your very own show. Between getting sprayed by a "japanese firefighter" (a toy that "pees" on you when you squirt it) and watching Scott blow out his candle, it was a great dinner. I got to yell at Scott again for not being a man when he didnt finish his dinner or icecream: Real men clean their plates! Furthermore, since i finished all of mine AND had to finish Paige's rice and my brother's, that made me more of a man than Scott. lol  Once we finished dinner, we all took turns showing Scott some "manly dances", such as the wave, the swim, the lawnmower, the sprinkler, and of course the "gun dance" to the 70's - 80's hit song "Stayin Alive".

At the end of the day, I think we all had a wonderful time. It was a blast to have such a great time with 2 of my closest friends, and its sad to think that this could be one of the last times i see them for a long while. You only turn 18 once, and as for you, Scott...... Im sure youll be a REAL man someday!  lol

Angst and Explanations

I DONT like you.
I never will.
We are too different.
I dont trust you in the slightest.
No one has a nice word to say about you.
You are a cheater.
Im afraid to be alone with you.
You always strain to set us up this way.
I despise your innocent facade.
I know i shouldnt trust you
..yet i still want to let you in.
You screw with my mind.
You lack any iota of personal hygeine.
Im wary of your dating history and track record.
I loathe your braggadocious attitude.
I never want to bring you home to my parents.
Stop asking.
I never want to go to your house.
Stop asking.
I never want to surrender any part of me to you.
Stop asking.
I hate how you constantly suck me back in.
I wish for the day where i can stop talking to you without feeling guilt.
I hate feeling like the bad guy.
I despise that you just dont get it.
I DONT like you.

Breakin The Law! - Social Norms

A project I have recently finished for AP Psychology. Enjoy :)

In every modern society, there are certain unspoken "rules" which we do not break. When you first meet someone and greet them by shaking hands, you do not make this shake typically any longer than a few seconds. People give people a set amount of personal space and expect the same in return. When the usual person walks in an elevator, they refrain from talking and just stare at the numbers. It may seem silly, but these are but a few rules in society that could be a big no-no to break, and that's exactly what i plan on doing. I will be breaking 3 social norms, in public at the Orange Park Mall, and documenting the reactions of 3 victims of each. What will happen when i break someone's comfort zone? The results will amaze you.

High-Fiving: Holding up your hand for someone to smack as a sign of approval or sucess. This action is mostly limited to friends and relatives, but everyone should have a little encouragement in their day! My first test subject was a girl trying on clothes in Pac Sun. She was modeling her style in a new blue shirt and skinny jeans, so decided to boost her confidence. I raised my hand and said in my nicest voice, "Who's looking good?! High-Five!!". She was a little confused at first, but when her friend started laughing and told her to do it, she finally slapped my still-awkwardly-raised hand. I, of course, whooped in the middle of the store to show my thanks, and then walked mysteriously away. The next person wasnt so nice. He was a sullen-looking boy in Hot Topic, purchasing a punk cd and a "Korn" shirt. I thought it was perfect timing on my part, because the young man had decided on this fateful day to use his Member Discount Card, and so i cheered "Saving money! High-Five!!", though he wasnt as thrilled and simply carried out his purchase without even acknowledging my existence and walked swiftly out of the strore with his bag. The cashier smiled a little though, and finally gave me a high five after holding my hand there for quite a while. Upon going to my favorite resturaunt in the mall, "Big Easy Cajun", I encountered my final prey, the hard-working Free Samples Girl. After i tried the sample, i said a very loud and innappropriate "Deliscious! High Five!!" and raised my hand. This victim was especially helpless, as she was holding a large tray of samples and deemed unable to high-five.  She seemed very dis-sinterested, though, and once she slowly realized i wasnt joking she apologized and pointed to her tray, making sure to avoid eye contact, as if she were willing me away. I held my hand there for at least a full minute while she was just staring into space pretending not to see me while serving other prospective customers. After a long wait, i finally said a dissppointed "Aww..." and sulked off.

I decided my next conquest would be to go from store to store listening for songs that i knew, start singing them, and ask people to join in. People generally avoid this kind of fun-loving behavior while in public, and yet everyone jams out when they're just "chilling with the homies". They say music heals the soul, but apparently this healing process is a private affair. Time to break the norm. The first place i could think of that plays music in their store was, naturally, FYE (For Your Entertainment). This store sells music and movies, making it the perfect target for music-afficianados. I picked up a stack of party cd's that feature songs that most people in the general public would know, such as "I'll tell ya What i Want, What i Really Really Want", "YMCA", "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun", "I Like Big Butts" and several others. I popped in the first disc, "Play That Funky Music" (coincidence?) started ringing in my ears, and i sang my heart out. Loudly. After i noticed a few people looking my direction, i slid off my headphone and asked if anyone would like to join me. "Come onnnn, everyone loves this song!". My first target was a hispanic teen with a few of his friends, so they all just laughed at me, mumbling something like, "Naww, Man" and walked as far away as possible, watching me the rest of the time i was in the store. My second victim was actually someone i had seen a few times in school but never talked to, so they felt obligated to answer my call. Here i was, singing obnoxiously for the entire store's listening pleasure, with this girl just standing next to me, laughing and occassionally chiming in a few words of "Respect". She seemed VERY uncomfortable, but i kept saying "Wait, wait, this is the best part!" whenever she made an excuse to leave, and so she stayed awkwardly there for the duration of the song. My third subject wasnt very interested, either, but once i started wailing "My Humps" he laughed, sang like one or two words after i pressured him into it, said "Yeah, i like this song, too", and then walked away blushing with embarassment. Nobody that i met wanted to sing with me. I think they were intimidated by my talent.

Social Norm #3: Bathroom Conversations. By far my favorite experiment, i couldnt help but use it on more than 3 people. Usually, conversation and pleasantries are reserved for outside the stalls of the public bathroom, but you never know when you'll ever get to speak to someone again, so i decided to give a few lucky women the conversation of their lives. The first lady that went into the stall next to me seemed quite off-put when i said "Excuse me, Ma'am, but does it seem cold in here to you?" After making certain that i was, indeed, talking to her, all she would say was that she was using the bathroom. Later, i asked a little old woman if she had 23 cents! The best part: she did! She just pulled it right out of her big, beige purse and handed it to me under the stall. She did ask me why i needed it, eventually, and i just told her i was thirsty. I'll admit, she was an unusually comfortable victim. One confused teenager listened as i droned on and on about how my mother was "being so uncool by making me text her every 30 minutes to make sure I was safe", but she didnt really say much except for the occassional "Uh-huh" and "Yeah". I tried to get one girl open up more, asking her questions like "What's your favorite store?" or "What did you come to shop for today?", but she just made her answers as breif as possible so she could get out of the stall. Later, i was talking to someone about "the troubles of public restrooms" and they just flushed the toilet mid-sentence. Rude! The most common reaction was that nearly everyone tried to be polite and say at least one thing in return, but no one really wanted to start having a friendly chat.

Society may be able to function without these rules, but the general public are never quick to break them. By disregarding these rules, i have learned that a society prefers to stay with what they know, and that failing to comply often results in ostrasization and ridicule. Sticking to the status quo is what keeps our world running smoothly, and if everyone were to corrupt this system of underlying societal rules, life would be chaotic and without order.

Making Waves

I got to "play God" today when i attended the drama pool party this afternoon at Ms Grau's house. But allow me to write this blog, as it should be written, old school Me, Myself, and Irene style and "begin at the beginning". lol  (lame joke; feel free to look it up).

Before i could go to the party, like any good guest, i had to pick up some stuff to bring. So i brought plastic plates and forks, fresh baked cookies, and lots of chips and salsa. When i got there, i was daring enough to be the first person to jump in. Pretty cool, huh?  ;)  All my drama buddies were starting to show up, like Drew and Scott and Teana and Merissa and Lauryn and Tiffany and Mr Thomas and Ms Grau and errbody!! haha  There was music to jam to, a clean pool to swim in, delicious food to eat, and, as always, wonderful company. I brought my waterproof camera (complete with lime green exterior and matching flotation device!) to take some pics with, so i took a few laps and shot some great photos of the scene. After a little while, my friend Scott wanted me to take a pic of him jumping into the pool, mid air, high school musical style. I agreed without a thought and stood my post while he jumped adventurously into the water.

.....Regretfully, Scott forgot to tell us he couldnt swim. Within a few seconds of the seemingly-normal jump, he surfaced and began to thrash and sputter and splash for quite a while. At first we were all solitary and confused, thinking he was only getting his balance or something. Once the realization soaked in, i jumped swiftly into the water in an effort to rescue my beloved buddy. Poor Teana was closer than i was, and she looked like she wanted to help, but she was shy about being new and unfamiliar to the group still.

As i swam to his aid, he dunked my head under the water to use me as some sort of makeshift buoy, but i didnt worry because i understood that he was just freaking out. Slowly but surely, i led him to the side of the pool with soothing words and steady paddles and helped him over the edge to safety. The 2 main reasons this was upsetting was 1) most obviously, he couldve seriously died or something, and 2) the picture he was posing for during the jump didnt even come out right. I felt terrible, but what can i do: "Ooh, sorry Scott, it didnt work. Would you mind risking your life just ONE more time so i can try again?" haha

Things got better with time, though, and later on Drew and Lauryn wanted to try a few poses too and i was able to get a bajillion fantastic shots. Then we played games like "Categories", where i tackled Lauryn by mistake and everyone laughed so hard, and "Soundless Marco Polo", which is EXACTLY as hard as it sounds.... or, rather, doesnt sound.  lol  Overall, it was a fun day, and it reminds me how much limited time i have left with all my senior friends  :( I'll miss everyone so much next year. *sigh*

Yearbooks

Youve seen them gettin passed around at the end of every school year, you flip through them to see all your friends and how many times you are pictured. You make fun of teachers and enemies, and smile at how great your hair looked. Friends sign funny comments and inside jokes and flurried "Have a Great Summer!" 's.

Well at MY school this year, yearbooks are all the rage. They were everywhere! They look AMAZING, ill admit; our yearbook staff did such a fantastic job of collaborating so many memories into one incredible, ginormous, hardcover book. It looks darn-near professional! However, there were several interesting flaws. For one, the background of the senior portraits are all the same color. Understandable. The juniors and below all got to choose their background color. Makes sense so far. But hold on - the senior portraits are the only ones in color! So what was the point of even letting the others CHOOSE if that color wasnt going to show?! lol  The FCA page (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) had an even WORSE flaw; they mis-printed a bible-quote! They apparently put the word "not" in the wrong line, so it ended up REVERSING the original meaning and made it COMPLETELY blasphemous! It was something like "Thou shalt NOT follow in the steps of thy lord and savior, and allow thine own blind ambition to be your guide." Can you say "irony"? LMAO!!  And, probably my personal favorite, some poor senior boy (we'll call him Robert Finney) was made victim to a crucial printing error. His original yearbook photo was badly pixelated (aka: looked really fuzzy), but instead of fixing the original portrait, the yearbook staff decided to reprint his original picture later in the book... under a different name!! So, basically, there was a blurry photo under the name Robbert Finney and a much better photo of the SAME guy two pages later under the name of something like Melvin Yaldrich! Not only is that outrageous enough but consider this: Who is the REAL Melvin Yaldrich? Where is HIS photo? Is it taking the place of someone ELSE'S name? And have all these people been informed of these mistakes, or are they still blindly searching for their names, only to find another student's picture?

Yet amongst all the typos and mistakes, an amazing thing happened: i became the spotlight of the drama page! *GASP!*  i know!  lol  Its so crazy, the last thing i expected was to be plastered all over the drama club section. The biggest picture, dead center of the 2 page layout, was ME. An entire side column, complete with random little factoids about my performances, were all ME. Another picture, at the bottom, was ME. The main quote beside the drama club title, was about ME. The very first line of text, was a quote from ME. The ENTIRE first paragraph (out of two!) was all about ME!!

In my opinion, they went a little bit overboard. Not only am i not even CLOSE to the only person in drama club, but im not even this year's president! My friend Drew was prez for this year, and he was a senior, but they only gave him one tiny little pic; so they gave ME the spotlight HE deserved! I still cant even believe it, its not like im THAT amazing or anything; i havent won like a bajillion awards or enetered many contests; i always try my best, but as far as the statistics are concerned, i consider myself average. I thought for sure people would get jealous and resent me, which im sure maybe one or two people are doing, but everyone else seems genuinely cool with it. Mrs Grau joked around a little, dubbing it the "Christy Section", but that was about the extent of it. Even Drew didnt seem to mind, or at least he hid it well. I told him i felt so bad for him, and he just hugged me and said "Im in the yearbook 9 other times, you DESERVE the spotlight." What's gonna happen next year, i wonder, when i AM president? Will i get the spotlight again or does some other rising star? Either way, i dont know how it happened: Did the staff intentionally do that so other students could bask in the ephemeral beleive that they'd "made an impact" in their special group or club, or is someone in that journalism office my all-time biggest fan? ..or perhaps Drew's arch nemesis? I shall never know....

Breathless

OWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!

Tonight has been Hell. I got home from school today and at about 6-ish i started having breathing problems. Every single time i took a breath, it hurt. Bad. This went on for hours. Sharp pain after sharp pain as i inhaled every cautious breath. I was literally red with tears and sweating. I was frustrated and stressed because it was like i could only breathe so much, and it was like having only half a breath in my system at a time. It was a little scary, too.

After a while of just thinking it would pass, that it was some effervescent cramp, i asked mom and dad for help. They thought that i was over-reacting and that the pain would go away if i just laid down. I did. Several times. No help at all. Dad gave me some water mixed with baking soda to relieve any gas bubbles. Besides a few burps, nothing. The pain kept on. They gave me some dinner and  no pain went away, and they were actually annoyed that i was crying out a bit during the meal. So they decided to take me to the doctor.

Dad looked it up before we got there, and said that he thought i had "Splenic Fixure Syndrome" according to my symptoms. There was noone in the waiting room so i went straight in while the nurse asked me some questions and then escorted me to my room and gave me one of those hospital dresses to change into. A few minutes later, the doctor came in and poked and prodded at my stomach and chest to try and get a sense of where the pain was. He told my parents he wanted an x-ray, so into a different room i went.

"Are you SURE youre not pregnant?" they asked a bazillion times. Of course, my reply was the same No.  "Ok, face the board, hold your breath.... Done." "Is the pain in your left side? Ok, turn to your right, facing the windows, and raise both arms above your head. Hold your breath...Done. Ok, go ahead" It felt like nothing had even happened, not like i imagined an xray would be, feeling some creepy wave-like aura running through my body with mysterious omnipresence.

About 30 more minutes passed, us having first walked in about 2 hours earlier. They gave me some painkillers, (5 mg of something starting with an L) a prescription for liquid coiedine, another painkiller, and basically told me i wasnt dying. Wow, thanks for the input, Doc. Honestly, i know they did all those tests and whatever, and that i wasnt in any immediate terminal danger, but i just wish he couldve been able to tell me exactly WHY i was feeling this way, how i could STOP feeling this way as soon as possible, and how i could prevent it in the future. But no, $75 for the x-ray, thanks, and that will be all for me. I feel drowzy.

Annoyances

I hate Mondays. The weekend was so awesome its makin the weekdays seem even worse  :P

All im doing in my AP classes since testing is over is watching movies. Im watching Avatar in two of them, so thatll be three days of several repetitious movie scenes blurring together. I think i may just use it to my advantage, though, and annoy everyone in my classes by speaking all the lines from the movies. lol

Speaking of annoying things, this freshman boy i know has been stalking me for like 3 months, and not in a good way!! lol  Seriously, even after i stopped texting him, he kept texting me EVERY DAY saying things like "Why wont you talk to me anymore?", "Do you hate me? I dont like being hated.", "Guess what?" (thats to trick me into texting back.. almost worked the first time lol), or "Did i do something wrong?". Hes even been blocking my exit from 2nd period on occassion because he has the class right next door. Finally, when he texted me for the 1000000th time today, i blew up at him, once and for all. Honestly, probably one of the meanest things i ever did, but this guy is more than pathetic, and he just REFUSES to take simple hints, otherwise he wouldve been off my back months ago.

I basically said "Stop annoying me! I havent texted you in a LONG time and yet you persist and persist! Why dont you just leave me alone, its not like im your only friend! I dont care if i was, either, because i may be "perfect" for you, but you are NOT perfect for me. I dont care if i make you smile, because even though thats nice and flattering, you havent made me smile ONCE. Youre nice and everything, but youre not funny and you dont know when to stop talking and texting and you dont give me any space. You are pathetic"

Ouch, right? Dont be too mad at me, audience, for i wouldnt have done it if he didnt really deserve it. He is the most annoying person i have ever met in my life, and ive met my grandmother! Furthermore, i have been nicer to this kid (before this blowup, of course) than ANY of his friends. I know, because ive met a couple of them and they were all like "Omg, you know him? Get out while you can, he is SO annoying! Id leave now before you get his hopes up or something." And thats coming from a friend!

Count the Hotties ;D

Ive been basically doin nothing but talking to a whole BUNCH of guys that i met yesterday. There is certainly a myriad of shameless flirting going on!  :O  haha  I think i counted EIGHT guys earlier!  Score! ;D

One is ridiculously nerdy, which is usually endearing, but not in this particular case. Still, fun to talk to.
Two is a flirty young man who keeps callin me "hotty" and works at pizza hut. Impressive  :)
Three has the CUTEST accent! Rawr! lol
Four is possibly dating someone... dont wanna ask cuz itd be too obvious.. but hes hilarious, adorable, and still flirtin back so IDC! lol
Five seems uninterested, but i can never read his signals. One second flirty, then bored  :P
Six is EXTREMELY perverted, but at least fun to tease
Seven is a friend who was nice enough to help me out earlier in the week. He's a nice guy.
Eight is... just Scott. lol  jk, Scott! hahaha  He's cool  :D

                                                                 (..and so is HE! lol)

When Drama Nerds Play

Oh..... My.... God! Tonight (Saturday) went WAYYYY better than i expected!

I got a ride from my friend, Cody, whom ive known since 5th grade, to see a play all the way across town that a mutual friend of ours from 5th grade starred in. Already crazy, right? So, first off, this school is HUGE and they have an ACTUAL theatre, as opposed to our school, which sports a tiny little cafetorium. They had incredible lights and sound, and the seats were on a sloping platform... i know this is all so nerdy, but it was amazing. I wish i could steal it for OUR drama club! haha

Then, "The Great Ghost Chase" began. (Thats the play) I wont spoil it for you, but basically its a musical comedy that takes place at an insane asylum where a recent earthquake has jarred awake some powerful spirits from the nearby burial ground, one of which is a poltergeist. While the "Ghost Chasers" are busy trying to catch it, several of the patients at the asylum are pretending to live out their fantasies due to the doctor's theory that doing so will bring them back to health. My friend Richie was playing one of the main characters, Dr. Roy, the patient who was pretending to be the doctor for most of the play. It was one of the most hilarious things id ever seen  :)

After the play, we waited around for Richie to come out from backstage so we could hang out for a few. When he got out, however, since tonight was closing night, the cast had made all these plans to hang out at Denny's for a little party. So he invited us! Imagine about 40 of the craziest, most hyped-up drama kids you have EVER seen taking up an entire HALF of the resturaunt!  :O

It was insane! At first, i admit, i was a little bit shy cuz i didnt really know anyone, and they were all talking about these inside jokes and stuff, but after a while everyone REALLY opened up and got frickin wild! They started playing this dart game thats popular among high school students in the area where you call out someones name and when they look at you, you cup your mouth and pretend to shoot a dart in their neck, and they have to get on the ground and stay there until someone taps them. The trick is when you hear your name called, you hold your neck and THEN look at them, which makes them unable to shoot you. The game is actually pretty hilarious and fun if you can get people to play along, which our whole half of the resturaunt did! haha

Then this dude i just met started mocking me for several minutes, so i challenged him to a wicked staring contest that lasted for like 4 minutes! haha  We were both making funny faces at each other and making lame threats like "Bring it on!" At one point near the end my eyes got SO red, but i wouldnt give up, and then the poor guy started actually tearing up, with big drops starting to pour down his face! Finally, he cracked and i shouted "SWEET VICTORY!" for all of Denny's to hear.  lol  Apparently i earned his respect because moments later, while he was holding his cold cup against his eye, he turned to Richie and said "I like this girl, she's cool."  :D

It was a blast, even though almost the entire time they were all talking spanish and junk, which i didnt understand a lot of. lol  After an hour or so, Cody and i decided to leave so we could get home at a decent hour. (It was already like 11, and its a 45 minute drive!) We made a quick stop at Mcdonalds cuz both of us only had a few bucks to spend on food, and then finally made our way back home.

Things werent exactly quiet at home, though! Upon arrival, i was greeted promptly with "Hey Christy!! WUZZUUUUUPPPP?!?!" ...from my MOM! lol  Apparently, Mom, Dad, and Rick decided to have a few drinks since Mikey and i were out of the house. Dad and Rick seemed to be holding out alright, but Mom was TRASHED! lmao  I am dead serious, it was downright hilarious how slurred her speech was and how she could barely manage to keep her eyes half open. She was cussin at me a little bit and talkin trash; it was great. Oh, and i havent even gotten to the best part: My Grandma ALSO decided to join in on the reindeer games, drinking an entire bottle of wine and at least 4 glasses of vodka (those orange and cherry mixed drinks, "twisters" or something)! Keep in mind that this is someone who has drunken ONE time in 20+ years, and that one time she did she was acting CUH-RAZY and couldnt even say a number with a straight face, and was later found puking her guts out all the next day! So just go ahead and guess what happened. If your answer was "She passed out for an hour and a half sitting on the toilet", then you are correct!! lmao

Crazy night indeed!

A Little Sad

Most of the time i write really long, blabby blogs, but i still believe that "short and sweet" is ideal to be in most cases. So, instead of telling you all about my boring-as-tapioca-pudding-day, ill just tell you about something that is hitting me hard lately. A fact that i carry with me every day, but seemingly growing in size with every step i take. I never like admitting it to people, for fear of seeming whiny or desperate or girly or dependant or afraid or whatever else, but i guess i am, in small part, all those things. To tell the complete, 100%, honest-to god truth......

APLAC, pickup lines, anger problems, skipping school, and dirty pictures ;)

"APLAC", of course, stands for AP Language and Composition. Feel free to revel in my glory  :D

Speaking of my glory, today was my final AP test! Yay!!! Actually, im almost upset about having to go back to my normal schedules, i was REALLY enjoying a free pass from class. lol  Regardless, i think i did extremely well today, and i feel exuberantly confident (sorry, leftover 'big words' from testing. lol). I thought i did well on my Psych test, but i am even more confident about today's test. The essay topics were relateable and easy to write about, i remembered all my essay formats and corresponding theses (thesises?), and, believe it or not, i finished all three without ANY rushing AND even with like 10 minutes left over!  :O  Shocking, i know. I find it funny how i finally mastered the art of pacing just in time for my LAST exam! lol

Sadly, after the exam, while everyone from Aplac wanted to hang out at Gator's (a resturaunt, for those who dont know), i was stuck at school with nothing to do because my grandma couldnt pick me up early. She was waiting for the refridgerator repair guy.  >.<  So, since i was technically dismissed from all of my classes and my 5th period AP class was just telling people to "go to the library", i decided i would chill with my BFF Chelsea in the rest of HER classes. She's always telling me how funny things happen in there, but not today. haha  Oh well, its not her fault she had a test and i was just sitting there getting weird looks from the other classmates. But her Early Childhood Development class went better. I got to help her watch little kids. There was one kid named Bryson (..or something else that started with a "B") and he was so adorable. Chelsea asked for a hug and he ran over to me instead. So she's like "Ugh! You hugged her instead of me and you dont even know her?" and he just shook his head with a grin. It was hilarious. Later on i was trying to help her pass out snacks and when i passed by his chair he grabbed my arm real tight and said "You're not going nowhere!" with a silly smile. Even after i laughed and tried to walk away he wouldnt let go! That child has a vice grip!!  lmao

So i got home finally on the bus, and when i walk in Grandma starts interrogating me about "Where ive been". Naturaully, i was confused. She tried to accuse me of ditching campus because apparently she sent pop to pick me up during school and he went to my classes trying to find me. I told them if they needed me to just make an announcement, but NOOO! lol

After school, Chelsea and her boyfriend James decided they would hang out at his house, and you know what THAT means!!! lol   So like an hour after school i sent them both this text just joking around saying "My guess is that you guys are probably on orgy #2 or #3 by now" and Chelsea replied "haha  We're not home yet". So i was like "Oh, so im only an hour off? Not bad  lol". Well then James was like "Im gonna have Chelsea call you up while were doin it" and i screamed through text, all caps, of course, "EEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!"  lol  And ever since then they kept me some kind of sick log of what they were doing all day, just to screw with me. Worse, they sent me a picture that looked they were doing something but, long story short, it was just ranch dressing.... lol

After that, for no apparent reason, i was in a bad mood. I promise it wasnt PMS, because im not even close to starting yet, and even if it had been my time of the month i dont usually get moody, i just act the same except mayabe more awkward and uncomfortable, if anything. I have no clue what it was, but it just kept getting worse, especially when my brother got home and Dad said that since Mikey wanted chicken nuggets and tater tots WE would have to make it. Even though it was his idea in the first place, he, just as i had predicted, didnt do a thing. That made me even more agitated in demeanor; specifically with him, but also in general. It was weird, because i honestly am not always so easily upset. And for some uncanny, unexplainable reason, the grouchy attitude spread. Mom and Dad were upset and stressed, Grandma and pop were yelling at each other; it all became overwhelming.

Then something strange and wonderful happened: Once i realized how i was acting, i went upstairs and tried to calm myself down, which was harder than it sounds. I just kept telling myself that if i just acted a little nicer and upbeat, maybe everyone else would, too, and then my feelings wouldnt be acted, theyd be real, because if everyone else is happy, im happy. Well, after i devoted myself to putting my attitude to rest, everyone followed through just like i imagined. It was unbelievable; mikey wasnt so bratty any more, mom and dad started joking around at dinner, and grandma... well, she never shuts up anyway. haha! jk, people  :)  Anyway, i was so proud of myself for having the will power to not keep my anger in the way of having a good time, and even more proud when it paid off. I had no idea how much MY mood affects everyone else's. Its almost a powerful feeling  :)

We went to get icecream at Bruster's after dinner so mom could get pop a late birthday present, and i said the funniest thing. Mom asked if i wanted anything and i said "No, thanks, im pretty full". She asked again, i replied with the same. Then the cute guy behind the counter said "Are you suuuure?" and i laughed a little and said "Yeah, im sure". (i was kinda trying to get on mom's good side so i could go see chicago later this month) Then he said "Well do you want to try any samples?" and i said "No thanks", but as he turned to go back inside and get everyone else's orders, i turned to my brother and said "..but i'd like a peice of THAT!" lmao!  :D

Scott is the most annoying person alive... PSYCH!

Told you i'd name my title after you, Scott! And i even managed to maintain my punny-ness  :D  haha
Hey everyone, its another beautiful night and you deserve your daily dose of CHRISTAYYY! lol
Why am i in such a good mood? A plethora of reasons (sorry, studying for English exam  :O ).

Firstly, I got to sleep in today. My AP Psychology exam wasnt until noon, so i didnt even have to go to school for the first half or wake up early and groggy or ANYTHING! Honestly, my body was too jittery about the test to allow me to sleep in for too long, but i got about an extra hour. Furthermore, since i still didnt have to do anything, i simply rotated between some last minute reviewing and playing videogames, alternating between the two until i had championed them both  :)

Second...ly(?), with all that extra relaxation and study time, my morale was incredibly boosted, along with my confidence, and i breezed through my exam with utter perfection and bliss, including the essays i had terrored so much. No blank questions left over. No stressing out. No rushing through essays.  *sighhh*

Thirdly, (i dont even care anymore, haha) after the exam Scott and i made a quick stop by the drama room to catch the end of the meeting. (Our exam interfered with our attendance). Honestly, it was a pretty ho-hum meeting, except for the fact that i was OFFICIALLY officially swarn in as drama club president. Sure, i was running un-opposed, but the fact that everyone had confidence that i was the perfect candidate for president was only made more official.

Fourthly, Scott came up with the knowledge-able idea that we should "hang out" and "chill" as the kids say these days. lol  So we drove off into the sunset in search of the elusive teen hangout: The Mall. There, we went to Books-a-Million and checked out (HA! book humor!) a myriad of books. There was this very interesting, factual, colorful world religions book called "Why so many Gods?". Then we looked at a little bit of the new age section, looking up each other's zodiacs (which are painfully true.. lol) and stuff. Apparently, my favorite pickup line, which by the way i would NEVER be so unoriginal as to use it, is "Your place or mine?" haha  Later on, he forced me to eat a taco because he felt bad about getting a philly cheese-steak. It was interestingly fun   :)

Last AP exam tomorrow, wish me luck!!

So, needless to say, i wont be doing THAT anymore! My apologies for the inconveniance, ill repost it all now  :)

Awk-waaaard

Today has been weird... nothing much to say. What mad it so odd was the fact that i havent been to school in 4 days, and i couldnt do much makeup work because i wont be back to "normal" school until thursday because of this weird AP exam schedule, so this is just that weird day in between. It was a slooow day, creeping along at an unholy pace. The only thing really worth mentioning was that 1) My friend, Scott, whom i know from drama club and my AP Psych class, came over to help me study for tomorrow's exam.

2) After Scott left, it seemed like everyone was in a bad mood. Mikey was pretending to be sick because he hadn't wanted to go to school today, Dad took FOREVER delivering his route (he's a mailman, in case i havent mentioned) because some old lady actually MAILED all her furniture to her new house, Mom was dealing with my annoying Grandma who wouldnt stop harping about the broken refridgerator, and Pop was being constantly pestered by Grandma on his own birthday. Thats right, today was Grandpas birthday. Dont worry, i forgot too! lol

So, since i am a thoughtful daughter and human being in general, i decided i would take over and make everyone an amazing dinner to cheer them up. I found an interesting new recipe for "Baked Macoroni and Cheese Cupcakes", and decided to go for it, but in more of a casserole-style. I cooked the noodles, blanched the broccoli (which was HILARIOUS because we told Grandma it was aparagus in order to get her to shut up about not liking broccoli, and she actually ate it! lmao), browned the ground turkey with some garlic and olive oil, mixed it all thoroughly, seasoned it to taste, sprinkled some cheese, and baked. While that was cooking, i browned some more turkey, stirred in some tomatoes and sauce, seasoned, cooked that for a bit, then boiled some noodles and presto! Everyone was thankful.

We all relaxed and ate our deliscious meal, Mom and Dad chilled out SOOO much, Grandma and Grandpa bought some cake and icecream for his Grande 'Ol 63rd, and all was mellow again.

Stay Nifty!  ;)

It's MUTHA'S Day!

I think this has been the best Mother's Day yet. Dad and i made mom a deliscious breakfast of assorted flavor pancakes, bacon, eggs, and potato casserole, which everyone enjoyed. I gave mom some plates that she wanted for the kitchen, and then we went to my nana and papa's for a few to give them their gifts. It was great, because i kept making fun of how mikey didnt get mom anything in front of the whole family  :D

Even though its mother's day, i got a little something, too. I had been waiting to go to nana and papa's for a while now, knowing that they had a lot of Playstation 1 games for me to borrow. I got Speed Punks, Crash Bash, Crash Team Racing, Spyro 2: Rypto's Rage, Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon, and MTV Music Generator! Cant wait to get into playing all these again, once i get a working memory card!   :P

Best of all, I made mom a little birthday e-card on jibjab.com, and it is the FUNNIEST thing! The whole family laughed when i showed them, and it was just one more way for me to rub my superiority in Mikey's giftless face. lol   Have a Happy Mother's Day, everyone, and dont forget to..

Prom Night, AKA: Guesstures Night?

Nope, i didnt go to prom this year. I didnt really want to go without a date and plus it was reeeally expensive. My parents acted nice when i told them i wasnt going, saying things like "Well you can go with your friends", "Its not THAT expensive", or "We could take you right now if you want", but i know it was just a little outside our current budget. Furthermore, junior prom is really pretty pointless.

So guess what we did instead? GAME NIGHT! lol  Yup, my brother, his 2 friends that were spending the night, mom, dad, and I all got together and played Guesstures. If youve never played the game before, its basically a timed version of charades, where you try to get your team-mates to guess what youre acting out so you can get as many points as possible. Obviously, with all the smart people on MY team, we won in a landslide. Literally, we gave them 3 extra turns and they STILL were 10 points short! Take THAT! Who's your daddy? Oh, yeah, DADDY, who is actually competing against you on my team! lol
Anyway, it has been a great night. Im actually glad i stayed home  :)

APUSH - me outta this testing chair (..and other lame puns)

Wow, i have been in test-taking hell for the past 3 hours! Ok, ok, so it wasnt THAT bad, but still not that great either. For those of you who don't get what im talking about, allow me to elaborate: I have taken 3 advanced placement classes (AP) this year in school, and if i pass the xams for each one at the end of the year, then i get college credit. Well, its the end of the year, and time to put my skills to the TEST! (told you there'd be more! lol)

Anywho, i just got out of the testing room for AP U.S. History not that long ago, my first AP exam ever, and quite easily the hardest test ive ever taken in my life. I tried to pace myself, like we learned in class, to 40 seconds per multiple choice question (there are 80 questions and only 50 minutes), but i still had a few blank left over when time was up. Then there were 3 essays we had to write in only an hour and 50 minutes, but i spent too much time planning my first one (the document based question), and so i was THIS CLOSE to not finishing all three. Though if its one thing im proud of, its that i even DID finish. Not only was my arm cramping like the dickens, AND i was the last person to finish, AND everyone was literally staring at me, including the test prompter, but it must have been some sort of miracle because i managed to write 2 complete essays in less than 35 minutes! TWO! If youve ever written a normal essay, some kind of random topic in english class or something, that probably took you at least 20 minutes. Then multiply the hardness level by 10 and THATS how hard an AP History essay is. So that takes even more time, which i didnt have! So, again, i couldnt be prouder that i at LEAST finished them, though i might suffer some internal bleeding in that arm over time. haha

Right now im at Texas Road House, which is where everyone in all the APUSH classes went for the after-party, which was kinda fun an awkward at the same time. I sat with Arielle (my graduation's valedictorian, as well as my french teacher's daughter) and a whole bunch of other acquaintances. I didnt really know anybody there very well, not to mention the fact that though i liked everyone at my table, they made me feel like the dumb kid of AP. They didnt mean to or anything, but they were going over what information they used in their essays and whenever i rarely chimed in theyd say "No, that wasnt in the right time-frame. You didnt really use that, did you?". Then id pretend i simply forgot about that and no, i hadnt used it in my essay, even though i actually did. You dont get counted off for mis-information like that, but it still made me feel pretty low.
I kinda feel bad for my friend, Paige, too. She said she thinks she rocked on the multiple choice, but also left like 1-3 blank, which is fine, but she didnt even get to start her last essay. That means, at least from what ive heard, that the best she could get is like a 2, which isnt passing, and possibly not even a high two since she said that she kindof BS'ed the second essay and didnt have much info. But we wont know for a while how we did anyway, right, so wish us both luck! Maybe ill at LEAST get a 3, which is enough credit to pass.

Sick as a Dawg

Oh lordie i was NOT feeling well this morning. I even overslept because of it, which in turn, caused me to miss school today. I REALLY wanted to go, too, because i think markum's class (APUSH = advanced placement us history) wouldve included some kind of fun review. Oh well :(  I am terrified of his exam tomorrow, though. I mean, i know what i need to know, but ive never written "outstanding" essays in his class, and i am the world's SLOWEST test taker. Even though i know my material, im consecutively the last person to put their pencil down. Plus, its 3 HOURS! Eesh...  Hopefully ill be more confident in the morning, and hopefully i wont be sick anymore, though i feel a lot better now. Looking forward to the after-party at Texas Road House with the 'ol APUSH gang. That'll be great  :)

So what did i do today? Study, study, study some more, go to the vet with dad, grabbed some lunch, played my newest PS1 game, and glammed up my blog! You like?  ;D  lol

Caliente!

Today, as you fine folks know, was Cinqo De Mayo. Honestly, much didnt happen in these hallowed halls. School was the same monotanous bile (jk), but im looking forward to my AP test this friday! YAY! haha  Anyway, I got home, studied, took a bath, adorned my sombrero and shook my miraccas! ;D

Nah, in all actuallity the only thing that was different was that i prepared some wonderful mexican food with ma famillo and finally got my latest Playstation 1 game in the mail, "Walt Disney World Quest Magical Racing Tour"! Phew, thats a mouthfull! haha   In other news, i took a picture of a WWII propaganda poster my friend made for a history project. Usually, id censor his name, too, but he told me to make sure to give him credit, and so i will honor his request.

Hope your Cinqo De Mayo was a blast! If not,
